The manners of the Western countries and their institutions that preach kindness and affection to other nations, themselves have an attitude that makes one feel disgusted. It is said that even "staring" at somebody in the Western and the European societies makes one feel bad and lawsuits are filed in the courts claiming to have been mentally hurt. The United States and the European countries take care of comfort and peace in their countries in a way that the government is obliged to protect citizens’ human rights. However, it is shameful that these societies appear to be observing double-standard policies toward other nations, particularly the Muslim countries, and do not hesitate in provoking the Muslims' feelings. Their anti-Islamic activities have reach to such a limit that they deliberately published blasphemous caricatures of the Holy Prophet Muhammad [peace be upon him] despite knowing that it would happen to be the most painful act for the Muslims. As soon as they published the caricatures, a wave of grief and anger ran through the Muslim world. The Muslims around the world staged protest rallies and processions. Then the Western media started declaring the legitimate protest by the Muslims as extremism and dull-mindedness and initiated the conspiracies to defame the Muslims worldwide. A young man, Amir Chima, from Rawalpindi was charged with attacking the cartoonist, who had published the blasphemous cartoons; however, Chima was tortured to death by the Danish police. This act was also used to "degrade" Muslims around the world. The Danish and Norwegian newspapers repeatedly demonstrated this shamelessness and obstinacy by publishing the Holy Prophet Muhammad's caricatures on several occasions. They seemed to be trying to play with the sentiments of the Muslims. These are the societies that talk about respect for emotions and feelings of the public; however, why do they repeat the process of mental torture to the billions of people by publishing the blasphemous caricatures? No doubt, these are the anti-Islamic and anti-Muslim forces that are behind all this. They, by destroying the good and positive image of the Muslims, are desirous of ruining Muslim's honor and dignity in the eyes of the rest of world. It is sure about the Muslims that they may probably tolerate abusive behavior to them; however, they cannot tolerate even a single word uttered in a negative sense against the Holy Prophet Muhammad because, in terms of sacredness, respect, and love, nothing is important than the Holy Prophet Mohammad. The wounds inflicted upon the Muslim world by the Danish and Norwegian newspapers would have hardly healed that the three Swedish newspapers, Expressen, Dagens Nyheter, and the Daily Malmo, had also published caricatures of the Holy Prophet Muhammad in a bid to "preserve credibility" of high journalistic standards.
According the Daily Malmo, in a bid to justify publishing the caricatures will increase dissemination of these newspapers. In other words, they are doing it purely on commercial basis. This means that they consider it as their legitimate act if they can make more money on it worldwide. While doing so, where do they lose their "moral" traditions that they tirelessly preach. Another newspaper, the Expressen, has termed it a source to highlight their right to freedom of expression. While publishing the caricatures drawn by Swedish cartoonist Lass Willix, the third newspaper, Dagens Nyheter, has written that Willix is not alone in this controversy and he has their support. Can any intellectual, or a civil society, or a sensible class of people support this stance that allows a particular group to hurt billions of people's feelings to create unrest and target some other religion with jokes and ridicules? Perhaps, the people living in Denmark, Norway, and Sweden, and their anti-Islamic supporters are unaware of the part of the history when the Holy Prophet Muhammad sent a letter to Iranian King Khusro Pervez, and the latter torn the letter into pieces, and made fun of it, and later the world witnessed the way his kingdom fell apart by facing indignity and notoriety. How shameful it is to these nations that they expect patience and prudence from the Muslims; whereas, stink and hatred emits from minds of these nations. Their routine activities make one feel shivering and the mind stops working. In this situation, the Muslims need to pray to God for help, and hold on to the right path. They also need to refer this case to the Islamic countries' organization and the Organization of the Islamic Conference [OIC], so that these organizations could take up this issue at every forum, including the United Nations, as it will have to play its role to get over with this conspiracy for good. However, it is in vain to expect the Western countries, their governments, and their so-called judiciary system that they will demonstrate a sense of honor to take a suo motto action in this regard and think about rectifying their mistakes. The newspapers in different Western countries "take their turns" of publishing these caricatures in every six months. It is the time to understand the strategic tricks by the enemies of Islam. May God help us stand firm!
